About us

The Arts Society Nadder Valley was launched in April 2018. It draws its 224 members primarily from the villages and hamlets across the Nadder Valley including Tisbury, Hindon, Swallowcliffe, Fonthill Bishop, Ludwell, The Donheads, Mere, Semley, Chilmark, Chicksgrove, East Knoyle but some of our members travel from as far as Somerset and North Wiltshire to be with us.

Lectures are held on the third Friday of every month, except December January and August, in the Nadder Centre, Weaveland Rd, Tisbury SP3 6HJ. The lectures start at 6.30pm but we meet for drink at 5.45pm so we can give members an opportunity to meet each other and to form friendships.

The Society is run for its members by an elected committee of volunteers who have focussed in the 2018-19 launch year on providing a programme of lectures a summer garden party and an outing to visit Wells Cathedral.

They are currently working on a wider programme for 2019-20 so watch this space.

For more detail about our activities both current and planned please look at the 'What We Do' section of this website.

We are affiliated to the national Arts Society and we are part of the Arts Society Wessex Area which offers further opportunity for joint activity or interaction with other local societies.

We are very grateful to our sponsors who have supported us in our launch year: Beatons Tea Rooms, Tisbury, Woolley & Wallis, Salisbury and Timeless Travels Magazine.
